Every year we shoot a very special event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Evening Under the Stars event was at the Cowboys Stadium again this year, and again, a lot of money was raised through the silent and live auction for the hospital. Thanks to emcee-ing by Amy Vanderoef of Good Morning Texas, auctioneering by Mike Jones, and an amazing acoustic concert by country music star Craig Morgan, a wonderful time was had by all in attendance– including many cancer surviving St. Jude patients! On Friday April 15th, the 23rd annual Beyond the Rainbow Luncheon and Fashion show benefitting the Children’s Cancer Fund was held at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. Several local celebrities and sponsors proudly escorted children undergoing cancer treatment down the runway to promote cancer research. This annual luncheon features not only a fashion show but also speakers and a silent and live auction to raise money for this hardworking charity.

Friday night we had the great pleasure of photographing the annual Evening Under the Stars event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This year the party was on the field at the Cowboys Stadium! The purpose of this event is of course to raise money for the hospital (which takes a whopping 1.6 million dollars to operate every single day) with a silent and live auction. This year’s hostess was the lovely Amy Vanderoef of Good Morning Texas on WFAA and as always, Mike Jones did a fabulous job as the auctioneer. It was especially touching to see little Tyler, a 3 year old boy who has just finished his treatment at St. Jude for a brain tumor, running around the field playing without a care in the world. Tyler’s mom gave a heartfelt speech thanking all those who donate to St. Jude, without whom Tyler’s treatment would have been financially impossible. And finally, Jo Dee Messina performed all of her hits for the guests at the end of the night and got everyone in the crowd singing and dancing. We have loved working with St. Jude for many years and look forward to many more events to come!
